Focus

Currently the group consists of a mixture of the University of Kansas School of Medicine- Wichita Department of Psychiatry Staff and Wichita State University graduate students. The group is headed by Dr. Don Morgan and Dr. Darwin Dorr. The current research interests of the group involves an examination of the Millon Inventories (MCMI and MACI) and both the adult and adolescent versions of the MMPI. The data being collected consists of several years of archival data, which is currently in the process of being extracted and entered into a comprehensive data base.

 Active Research

Dr. Morgan- Research examining the functioning of the validity indices of the MCMI-III with psychiatric inpatients who over-report, thereby exaggerating their symptoms.

Matt Woolley- Interests include psychological measurement and personality disorders. Currently conducting a multitrait-mutimethod analysis of the convergent and divergent correlational relationships of the 10 DSM-IV personality disorders as measured by the MCMI-III and the Morey MMPI-2 and Ben-Porath MMPI-2 personality disorder scales.

Mike Schoenberg- Research related to the Validity Scales of the MMPI-2.

Jason Deselms- Interested in the unique characteristics and issues related to diagnosing personality disorders in adolescents. Currently conducting a concurrent validational study which examines the degree to which the MACI covaries with the MMPI-A on conceptually similar and dissimilar scales.

Carla Alcazar- Psychometric dimensions of depression, particularly in regard to examining the distinction between major depressive disorder, dysthymic disorder, and the concept of depressive personality disorder.

Robin Matson- Examining the PSY5 scales on the MMPI-2.
